Gakenke District Launches 2026 National Examinations

On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, in line with the nationwide commencement of the 2026 National Examinations, candidates completing Ordinary Level (O'Level), Advanced Level (A'Level), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and Professional Examination (P.E.) for Accountancy programmes in Gakenke District officially began sitting for their examinations.

The official launch was presided over by the Mayor of Gakenke District, Mukandayisenga Vestine, accompanied by district officials responsible for education and representatives of the security organs. The event took place at ES Nyarutovu Examination Centre in Nemba Sector, where 367 candidates are sitting for the examinations. Overall, 7,219 candidates are taking the 2026 National Examinations across 22 examination centres in Gakenke District.

In her message to the candidates, the Mayor wished them every success and encouraged them to approach the examinations with confidence, integrity, discipline, and careful attention, while strictly complying with all examination rules and regulations.
