The industrial sector in Gakenke District is not very well developed. In the district there are only 12 coffee processing centers and two centers for seedling variety improvement. This is usually brought about by lack socio-economic infrastructure like roads, water, electricity etc

There is need to encourage foreign investors to invest in the district especially in the agricultural sector due to the soil fertility in the district and abundance of cheap labor. There is also need to encourage the population to use modern methods of technology in order to increase there productivity and hence improve there standards of living.
